Cloudy where I was too..
I do amateur meteor scatter using a digital mode called MSK144. This involves communicating with other stations by bouncing signals off the ionized trails left by meteors as they burn up in the sky. (It's done typically on 6 meters and on 2 meters).
I was on 2 meters the night of the 'supposed' meteor storm hoping for some amazing conditions... But it never panned out. The meteor news reports were indicating that it might be an amazing shower, or there might be nothing at all.. Turns out that the latter was true. Conditions were far from exceptional.
On a positive note, I did manage to work one station that was in Maryland which is a new state for me on 2 meters.
