I know I started this awhile ago, but now I'd kind of like to see a list put up on the Some of the metro area's Law Enforcement and Fire Data bases. I don't really care where we start but could we here start to compile some unit Id's? Or is it a dumb Idea??

I know we had a small list of DPD, I just can't find the post.

This is something that I started working on more than a year ago. I put together a web page that has more than 40 Colorado law enforcement agencies codes and unit designators. I never got any farther than that because, with the exception of one person, no one submitted any additional information to me. The link to my web page has been located in the signature section of every one of my posts. Unfortunately the computer that I used to do my HTML authoring died a while back and was replaced but I never reinstalled the HTML program on the new computer.

Across the top screen for every county, there is a tab called "Codes and Maps" and under is a header for codes/units/station lists. Other parts of the country in RR use this extensively for unit IDs and it is quite helpful when I travel. I would like to see Colorado IDs there since it would be nice to have them centralized with the freqs. There is a link for each county for submitting the unit IDs.
Thanks for the info !

Denver Police Radio ID's

Here is a partial list of radio id's & codes for the Denver Police Dept - I welcome any additions, deletions, and corrections to what I have so far. After getting the list finalized, I'd like to submit it to the database.

ADAM 1 - Mayor
ADAM 2 - Manager of Public Safety
ADAM 3 - Chief of Police
DAVID # - District Attorneys
IDA # - Intelligence Bureau
KING # - K-9 Unit
METRO # - Swat Team

OD # - Officer Working Off Duty
POST # - 16th Street Mall Unit
ROBERT # - Reserve Officer
TAC # - Gang Unit
UNION # - Detectives
YANKEE # - CRIME LAB UNIT
ZEBRA # - VICE UNIT

Patrol Officers are designated by three digits, the first digit being the district number, 2nd digit indicates sector, not sure of the 3rd digit.
For Powershift units (units with two officers) the first digit will be doubled.
Any single number (i.e. Command 1) is a district captain
Any number ending in a double zero (i.e Command 100) is a district lieutenant
Any number ending in ten (i.e. 110) is a sergeant
600-999 are Traffic Ops / Officers

Code 1: Call dispatch
Code 2: Call station
Code 3: Go to station
Code 4: Situation is under control
Code 5: Wanted/stolen
5A: Armed & Dangerous
Code 6: On-scene
