Looks like another one of the new Metro Fire/MBHSR frequencies is on the air. Radio techs were testing today on 482.2125 PL 103.5 which is the Metro Fire South District frequency. It seems to have good coverage of the southern suburbs incuding areas beyond the Metro district based on todays testing.

 Mutual Aid. you should know better LOL

Dist 13 includes Weymouth, Quincy, Braintree, Milton, Randolph
and they routinely go Mutual Aid south of the District.

Having the different [North / Central / South] Repeaters will definately help with Mutual Aid portable coverage, especially in Bldgs.

I have not seen a radio in years, but Quincy is part of UASI and likely would not have Plym Cnty channels in the Trucks, and the Boston Fire Template [bfdradio.net] doesn't have Plym Cnty but does have the Norfolk Cnty channels.

What is the philosophy behind needing coverage outside of District 13 ?

Another example of out of district departments that have radios with out of district channels programmed, Hingham has Braintree and Quincy and others in their radios, for fire departments. Rockland PD has their radios loaded with just about every UHF department east of Worcester.

And Norfolk County has every Norfolk Cnty town on the system, even if they belong to another District.

What happened to the days of You belong to One Dist, and monitor that radio and have the Mutual Aid Dispatch agency join the other network as needed.

ie; Beverly Control has Metro Fire for Interop
Randolph [Southeastern Control] had Metro Fire

Too many channels, too much confussion.

Keep It Simple for the Stupid. KISS is the method.

an Example of Confussion was last month or the month prior...
Milton has a 2nd Alarm. Instead of notifying Metro Fire, they hopped on Norfolk County first. Bad Move. Let Norfolk monitor Metro Fire and coordinate thru your primary Mutual Aid Network.

JMHO as a former Police Dispatcher..

Interop begins at the Dispatch Center
