Recent changes that were made to channel assignments for Metro Zone agencies using the RCS (CHV,IMB,CRD,NAT).
------------------------------------------------------------------
Effective September 15, 2023, the Cities operating on the RCS Radio System will change the following assignments for Command groups:
6C/6D Medical Aid CMD / TAC
6E/6F Non Medical Aid, Non Structure Fire CMD / TAC
6G/6H Structure Fire CMD / TAC * Primary
6I/6J Structure Fire CMD / TAC * Secondary
6K/6L Vegetation Fire CMD / TAC
6M Secondary TAC for any command group
6N Secondary TAC for any command group
This new structure will provide five dedicated command groups and 2 additional TAC channels that can be used for any expanding incident.
• The only command groups that are shared are 6C/6D and 6E/6F.
• Non-Structure incidents such as rescues or Vehicle Fire 1st Alarms will be dispatched on 6E/6F.
• Structure fires requesting a secondary TAC for staging will always get 6M as the primary and 6N as the secondary.
• This structure allows for expanding vegetation fires to be easily given two additional TAC channels (6M and 6N).
• Additional vegetation fires will be dispatched on any available command group not currently in use (other than 6C/6D).
