Arriving somewhere, but not here . . .
You may, or may not, have read in the papers that Metrolink, in cooperation with the Ventura County F.D., the Los Angeles City F.D., Los Angeles County F.D., Simi Valley P.D., L.A.P.D., L.A.S.D., and a host of other agencies, are going to have a Metrolink vs Amtrak crash scenario exercise this Sunday inside of Tunnel 26, which is the longer train tunnel that runs under the Santa Susanna Mountains between Simi Valley and Chatsworth.

Not so much.

Due to the predicted rain events over the next 5 days (2 different storms), and concerns regarding the Station Fire area with potential mud slides and other such issues, the drill has been postponed until early January, or possible February.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled listening activities . . .

Merry Christmas to all . . .

They shouldn't wait too long. Besides the Chatsworth crash, they had another major near miss in 2006 during the T26 seismic retrofit. Mlink continues to ignore root causes. Unfortunately they will until the FRA or NTSB changes things.
