I see there are a lot of changes being made to the Metrolinx Site, I have been trying for a long time to pick up Metrolinx from Fort Erie and I have a discone antenna out on my 4 floor balcony facing Niagara Falls and still only pick it up on a rare occasion and not for long before it fades out because I can not get a good signal.

The Niagara Tower has a 20 mile radius and thought I would pick the signal up a lot better than I do, I pick up a lot of different analog and digital radio systems from Niagara Falls but can't pick up Metrolinx. Will there be any changes in the system that in the future that would give me a better signal down in Fort Erie coming up.

Any new towers or any realigning of the towers antennas that would be of help to me in the future. Or am I just out of luck?

There is a UHF Expansion license (CFZ836) issued for Niagara Falls at Standley Ave. Keep an eye open on the Metrolinx group 3 frequency list:

Group 3
=========
410.3125
411.1125
411.4875
411.7875
411.8625
413.3375
413.9375

Once all active, with the other expansion sites, it should become a simulcast with Fonthill (CHP350) and St. Catherine's (CGU730). I currently have this group setup as South Simulcast.

Wow thanks so much for the information I will make a favorite list and start listening in, anything I log I will post it.

Just a FYI, 410.3125 should come up as the control channel. "should". :)
OK I'm in the process of making all the changes to the frequencies in the my favorite system and try it today , I'll download the new master list tomorrow and install it in Sentinel and make re-install it to make sure I got it right.

Before Kawartha Lakes came up, this is what I had for the Niagara or what I flagged as South Region:

Site: 1.4 NAC=1A4 ; South Region (Niagara)

Neighbor: BEE00.1AC-1.2 ; Hillsburgh

Channel 2-2425: 410.3125 SCC
Channel 2-2519: 411.4875 CC
Channel 0-2714: 413.9375-1 VOICE
Channel 0-2715: 413.9375-2 VOICE

It may not be a complete picture, as my reception was not perfect, except for the occasional good evenings.

Steve, that radius is not meant to be for signal coverage. It is supposed to be for the regional geographical boundaries. Most people make that assumption. Nice that you are receiving it now.

Great work on Metrolinx, VA3DBJ. Thanks for keeping us up to date.

Thank you for the information on the radius, I am picking it up but the signal is weak from time to time, I'll see how I pick it up tomorrow
