The new Kawartha Lakes site is now up as 1.8 and they are currently testing. I'll update the site once DSD+ grabs more data. The site is located just north of the highway 35 and 115 split. Currently, it looks like only TG 1008 is linked. All others are being denied.

Apparently, once Kawartha is up and linked, they will be working on upgrading Peterborough. The Peterborough tower should end up using the same 410.3125 channel sets as Kawartha.

Those will be the true East Simulcast sites then. Toronto and other simulcast Site 1.1 locations will have to have another name.

I have my DSD currently setup as Central Simulcast for Toronto, but Kawartha and Peterborough as East Satellites for now, with Uxbridge as North Simulcast.

Will be interesting to see how the linking goes, once Kawartha is linked up and what will happen with Peterborough after the updates.

P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.1, "Central Simulcast (Oshawa/Toronto)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.2, "West Simulcast (Hillsburgh)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.4, "Niagara (South Satellite)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.5, "Peterborough (East Satellite)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.6, "North Simulcast (York/Scugog)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.7, "South Simulcast (Niagara)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.8, "Kawartha (East Satellite)"

The Peterborough tower (1.5) is now coming up as isolated on the East Simulcast tower at Mitchell's Corner. Not picking Peterborough up now. Wondering if Peterborough is being swapped over as well.

1.2 was showing isolated for some time now. I am wondering if they are discontinuing having simulcast zones linked.

Confirmed that Peterborough is configured the same as Kawartha. So Peterborough and Kawartha are a simulcast. I’ll update the changes when I get back home. So what we have flagged as East Simulcast should be renamed Central Simulcast or GTA simulcast and Kawartha and Peterborough as East Simulcast.

This is what I have now config'd:

P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.1, "Central Region (Toronto)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.2, "Hillsburgh (?)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.3, "Kitchener-Waterloo (?)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.4, "South Region (Niagara-St.Catherines ?)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.5, "Peterborough (Old-Decommissioned)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.6, "North Region (Uxbridge-York)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.7, "West Region (?)"
P25, BEE00.1AC, 1.8, "East Region (Kawartha-Peterborough)"

The new channel alignment seems to follow, more or less:

I'm not disputing that there may well be an active site in Brantford but given the excellent signal strength I see on 410.3125 (CC to site 1.7) I'd suggest it's a simulcast with multiple locations. Because of the escarpment immediately to my west/south-west I can barely receive FleetNet at Brantford on 142 MHz and there's no trace of Brantford PD at 860 MHz so to see the same discone with the same radios here doing so well at 410 MHz makes me a bit suspicious.

Metrolinx is adding sites and changing up the zones a bit. Reorganizing into 3 basic channels groups. Not sure on the time line, but the East group at Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough was completed last weekend. I had some Radio Service techs come up on the Uxbridge tower yesterday, so it is possible the Uxbridge North group might be next.
