So far it sounds like GO RTC. Last night to about 3 am, RTC was communicating only to GO trains. I'll be listening today and also have the recording going. I have checked TAFL and noticed 4 channels licenced out here for TTR GO.

160.83 TTR GO8
160.32 TTR GO7
160.92 TTR GO6
160.44 TTR GO5

GO07 and GO8 are licensed for Lakeshore East area at Oshawa and Ajax and GO5 and GO6 looks like Northeast at the Agincourt Yard, Lincolnville and Uxbridge. There are other ones licensed, but they are out of range for me. Looks like 19 channels have been licensed in total, GO1 to GO19.

TTR also has CN1 and CN42 licensed, as well in the east end for regular FM.

I will be monitoring NXDN in the new Kitchener, Stratford, London corridor. It's possible they will be using that instead of setting up a simulcast site(s) for the new extension.

LOL great minds think like mine. I am often near tracks in the London area so I can set up a SDR and see if I can capture anything. Worst case I may have to ride a train and do some heavy seek and destroy research.

Both TTR GO7 and GO8 in action tonight. Handling GO traffic through Scarborough to the Pickering junction, then both GO and CN traffic through to Oshawa. Pickering Junction is where GO Sub, York Sub and Kingston Sub meet.

Interesting that they are using 0 RAN. Earlier, all frequencies exclusively used 1 RAN.

Would you please post the GO 1 to GO 19 frequencies, as the ones you use differ from the twenty on the other list.

From that list, I put them in as Conventional with Digital Mode in my 536 and the chatter I'm getting is GO4, GO5, GO7 and CN Tower 160.56.
All are 0 RAN as opposed to the 1 RAN with AES in the past.

Maybe we need an agency created for the database.

GO7 and GO8 via Oshawa, are running as conventional. 90% of the time, I can only hear RTC via GO8. Every once in a while I can hear a CN unit running through Oshawa or going to the Oshawa yard. Most of the transmissions are track/segment clearences from RTC for GO Sub.

It seems that CN Rail is no longer handling the Metrolinx East RTC duties on their frequencies. I'm hearing westbound passenger trains calling the "MX East RTC" from Oshawa on NXDN AAR 389 160.8300 MHz to advise they are entering their territory at Durham Junction and MX East RTC calling various trains between Cherry Street and Durham Junction on NXDN AAR 321 160.3200 MHz, both with a RAN 0.

Metrolinx West RTC still heard on 161.025 FM a few minutes ago and nothing on any of the Willowbrook NXDN channels yet.

I did receive GO 7 very strong downtown this morning. Even on the P1 parking level at my office building at Church and King.

Ever since Metrolinx took over dispatching duties for track they own, they've been eager to also get off CN's radio channels. Part of this is about ownership, but the other part is practical: there's an awful lot of interference on the CN 01 standby channel, especially north of the city. This is why the Uxbridge and Weston subs changed to using CN 42 (AAR 089, 161.445) as a standby instead of CN 01.

I'm not sure what the RadioReference policy is on this, but I don't think it's a "system" per se: it's just replacing the existing CN conventional simplex railway channels with Metrolinx's own simplex railway channels, some of which are NXDN. It's not a trunking system. I think RR is also missing CN 42, and the TTR analog channels in the USRC. But my interaction with the RR database is limited mostly to Uniden Sentinel, so maybe I'm just not finding where it's organized (e.g. by subdivision or rail operator). If I could see it I'd suggest specific changes.

Anyway...

Right now, the digital radio migration project affects the GO-owned portion of the Kingston and Bala Subs and the Uxbridge Sub. However, not all equipment has moved over yet: for example, there were issues during testing with some of the DTMF-triggered level crossing controllers that remain analog for the time being.

Here's what I've figured out so far (all NXDN4800 RAN 0):

Bala Sub (0.0-16.1)
Standby: (?) (GO 3 would fit the pattern but I haven't heard anything to confirm)
RTC (Metrolinx Toronto North): GO 4 / AAR 377-377 160.740

Uxbridge Sub (38.9-61.0)
Standby: GO 5 / AAR 337-337 160.440 (there are signs for this at Scarborough)
RTC (Metrolinx Toronto East): GO 6 / AAR 401-401 160.920

Kingston Sub (313.9-333.8)
Standby: GO 7 / AAR 321-321 160.320 (there are signs for this at Cherry St and Scarborough)
RTC (Metrolinx Toronto East): GO 8 / AAR 389-389 160.830

I would agree. The trunked system should go and the CN agency page should be modified.

If someone could create a list of what is in use for the Union Station Rail Corridor then a subcategory could be added.

I think RR is also missing CN 42, and the TTR analog channels in the USRC..

I've been hearing 161.445 in use with GO and UP trains for some time. I wondered what it was and couldn't find a reference to it in RR or anywhere else online. Would one of those TTR USRC channels be 160.260? I haven't seen that listed either. I've heard that one in use while I'm sitting stuck in traffic east of Union Station. I'm guessing 160.935 would be on the west side as I've heard "John Street" on there in the past.
