I heard something on a Mutual Aid or something similar, it was on 852.425 on the Miami Co. P25 system. It was a firefighter talking to LA 2, the incident wasnt in Miami Co. though. So the firefighter had said "blah blah blah Lutheran Air 2 on EMA 4 (Firefighter contacting LA 2)" What does EMA 4 stand for?

That would be Region E mutual aid 4, E-MA4. You can see all the mutual aid regions HERE. Each region has 4 mutual aid talkgroups and the fourth is normally used for medical helicopters.

So would this be why I can also hear random EMS talking, most of them I dont even recognize?

No. Random EMS would be on these ISDH TGs. EMS is seldom heard on the Regional MA TGs.

EMS doing mutual aid with other agencies can be heard on the SWMA's and Regional's also. The ISDH EMS ones are for dispatch and patient reports/physician consults for agencies or municipality/county without assigned medical tg. If an agency does not have another agencies tg in codeplugs they can and do use mutual aid tg. Which is one of the reasons they exist. Also MCI events.

Also if something is wrong with a site assigned to an agency, or local system has issues they can go to mutual aids. As has happened with Hamilton County a few times.

Ive also heard grant county ambulances go back in service, fire just got dispatched to somewhere around Rochester for a accident. Very interesting tbh. Ive also heard ambulances arriving at hospitals and saying their mileage.

Believe I found out what it was, on 852.425 it was Fulton Co. EMS

852.425 is one of the voice channels on the Peru SAFE-T site. If you have the Peru site programmed in your scanner, you don't need to have this frequency programmed in also.

Ill keep it in, Its fun to listen to it
Dude, it's just one of multiple voice freqs for that site of the state TRUNKED system. You miss so much by only using one freq and not properly monitoring the system.

Do you happen to know how to remove them?
