Hello. I am new to the forum and I am trying to scan the city of Miamisburg with a new PSR-700 scanner. The scanner has been updated to the latest firmware and I am using EZ-Scan software to download from radioreference.com. I do hear traffic as a whole when listening to Montgomery County - but never Miamisburg. If I just try to listen to Miamisburg Talk Groups I never hear a thing.

Also, even when listening to Montgomery County I drops out (mutes) every few seconds.

I have not gone to the Custom table and clicked "reband". Do you still need to do that or should all the correct settings pull through?

If you have the the latest library update then there is nothing else you need to do. Miamisburg is dispatched by
the Sheriff's Office Regional Dispatch Center (RDC) at the old Mound Labs site.
They very rarely use their own talkgroups. You will hear them dispatched on TGID 144 SO SOUTH,
and then on the any of the SO TAC talkgroups when needed. I live in Miamisburg and use the PSR-800 to monitor.

If I go to the wiki.radioreference.com site for the PSR-700, I see the following:

Setting Up a System for Rebanding
NOTE: This procedure was discovered using EZ-Scan on the PSR-800; it's assumed this procedure will also work here. Corrections are solicited
1.Select the system
2.Select the site
3.Bring up the trunking tables for the system
4.Set it from Auto-fill to Custom
5.Hit the Set Reband button
6.Load the new configuration to the scanner

Do I need to do this? Will this alleviate the "mute" I experience ever few seconds. Also, I do have the SAME set up in the EZ-Scan software so that probably checks every seven seconds or so.

You can go to Custom, click on 'Set to Reband' and delete everything EXCEPT Table 00 AND 01 So they look like this:

Table Ch-LO Ch-HI Offset Base Freq Step

00 440 559 440 851.02500 25.00
01 0 719 440 851.01250 25.00

That should get your PSR-700 following the system properly.
However, using the SAME feature will cause the 'mute' you are describing.

Thanks! Removing the SAME priority search feature solved the 'mute.' I am really enjoying this small(compared to my old BC245XLT) scanner. I also love the ability to receive timely updates from the radioreference database.
