RAF MRTT will drop into Michigan on August 4th and 5th to offload personnel for Northern Strike.

China Airlines 777, CAL1886 dropped off soldiers in Detroit today from their home country to take part in Northern Strike, I believe this is the first time a country from Asia has taken part in NS.

Also upnorthlive.com traversecity 7&4 news is reporting Black ops will be held in an around tvc so no body is alarmed. Few yrs ago Blk helos had people residents upset. All stayed top secret at that time never told if DEA, Homeland.

I believe STEELGATE is the callsign for Range 40 controllers. Range 40 is an Air to Ground training range.

Do you know why i maynot be able to track Mil Air here in northern MI? used ads-b just now as choppers went over house from Alpena to Grayling nothing shows . Or their below radar this happens alot with cargo or jets also i'm 15-20 miles east of the Grayling ranges.

As you said, low altitude flights usually don’t get picked up. I run my own ADSB receiver using an outdoor antenna hooked up to an SDR and often pick up low altitude flights near me that don’t show up on the various ADSB apps. That being said, as I’m sure you already know, a lot of military aircraft switch their ADSB transponders off. Usually only the large planes, C130’s and Stratotankers, and some helicopters have their transponders on.
Lots of action at the Grayling range today. 261.2, 307.775, 256.6 and 234.9 very active.

It’s rare that I get a visual before I get the radio traffic, but this IL ANG KC-135 did pattern work at BTL tonight. Full credit to my kids who spotted it first. “Dad! It’s a jet!”
He was on 126.825 working in the pattern with BTL tower. Hearing he was doing pattern work, I ran inside for the camera.
