so with the whole hurricane thing I heard people are using this app Zello for streaming live feeds ,..the interesting thing about it is apparently you can have a stream,... & people can be in that stream listening & because its like a 2 way radio app they can talk about it with each other , without disturbing the stream ,.also it may be useful for streams that rr cant host ,..such as mil air ,..has anyone heard of it or does anyone use it ?

Zello has been mentioned in many threads, especially as an option in place of radios.

What sorts of feeds are carried?

Hello!

Hello all from Toronto, Canada.

Thank you for having me on the forum!

I'm planning on coming to the Selfridge Military Museum to spot there in the upcoming months. I'm talking with someone who works there at the museum - and my understanding is that they have some training exercises on the weekends from time to time.

I'm pretty sure the A-10's are based out of there if I'm not mistaking. I would like to see them come in and land from the museum. I'm also being told other than the training exercises, that the base is hit and miss for action, but I'm not sure. If anyone can shed some light on this please let me know. It looks like a magnificent place to go to!

Thank you!

First a protocol thing, do not hijack an existing thread with another topic. Start a new item/thread with your topic.

As for Selfridge, there are flights at various intervals. When the drill weekends occur for the 127th Wing, more flights are likely. It depends on the training cycle, for combat readiness, and what other training needs to be done, over and above maintaining flight proficiency.

I don't think he was trying to "hijack" an existing thread. At least they didn't post their questions under the "Holly Tower" thread. The person had a question about watching military activity in Michigan.

Were you listening to VHF or UHF?

Hello Krocus, i was listening to both VHF & UHF. They were probably using the CANFORCE call sign. Maybe they went Cel Nav and went dark? LOL They should've been on 134.300 DTW app by time I made it up to my room. They were nowhere to be found?
For those that don't know, Cel Nav is Celestial Navigation. Sorry for not answering sooner.

Do you have channels programmed in or searching a certain range?

Hi Scanmanmi,
Yes, all those freqs are programmed into multiple scanners. Only when unknown aircraft are in the area do I search for an A/A freq with 3 scanners between 225.000 to 380.000 Mhz AM mode. Each scanner covers about 50Mhz ea. If you go thru previous post you will find many common freqs from this area from multiple people. Hope this helps.

Hershey MOA Discrete Freq Discovery

Well after living in Grand Rapids for 13 plus years I have finally found the Discrete Freq for the infrequently used Hershey MOA north of me.

One of the players with Shanny flight, if I heard correctly, was having trouble with their FM radio (So I assume A-10's) and could only use one radio. The freq they shared for Hershey MOA was 293.550 Mhz.
Confirmed traffic on that freq. Not quite sure on callsign but sounded like Shanny 51. They also shared an air to air freq of 365.650 Mhz ... nothing heard on that freq.
