I would like to enter the entire MPSCS system into my PRO-106 and 197 radios, and put each geographical area into its own V-folder. The PRO-106/197 and the similar GRE models have limitations that prevent putting the entire system in one V-folder, specifically a 32 frequency limit for control channels and a limit on talkgroups of just over 1800 (1841 I believe). I use ARC500 for programming.

If any of you get the entire system into the scanner using a number of V-folders, what geographical scheme are you using to divide the state into workable divisions? I was thinking perhaps using DNR districts (1 through 9), or MDOT regions (1 to 7), and am seriously considering using the MSP Districts (1 through 8, will have to split district 8 in the UP).

If you have the entire MPSCS system in one 106/197 scanner, how did you get it done to make it workable? What did you do to account for the subsystems, like Detroit for example?

TIA

When I did it a while ago I did it by regions per vfolder and you did have to have two three or four TSYS for a region to get all the control and alts in. I did not put in all TGs. I only added them as I heard traffic while traveling and edited the description later when i got home.
