What is that and why would it matter?

It gives you an idea on how much of MPSCS has been encrypted, what kind of talk-groups/services, what Counties and Cities, etc.

Soooo.......... what % is encrypted? Is there any evidence that encryption has been prevented by civilians?

Currently there are 4,372 talkgroups in the database of MPSCS.
537 are Mode E
515 are marked DE full encryption - I feel comfortable that are a decent percent of these probably are actually De, but we cant confirm.
22 are marked De partial encryption

12.28 % encryption in use.

There are a handful of others using it, coast guard, caro center off hand.

I used the encrypted TG list to build a list of locked-out TGs in my PRO-106. When I'm using a wildcard search, this prevents the scanner from stopping on encrypted TGs. Obviously it's a moving target, and some encrypted calls get through, but it helps me catch more unencrypted calls overall.
