Home Patrol 1, wanting to purchase extra SD.

As long as I purchase a " MICRO SD " are there limits to which one will work?

2nd Question, any problem increasing SD capacity to 32 GB ?

MULLY95 ..... thank you for the post. I will check it out shortly

I believe you want a class 10 non UHS-1 card. UHS cards are designed for devices that support UHS. I'm not sure if the these scanners will support UHS so I just wanted to throw that out there.

what is the difference between class 4 & class 10 SDs
will they both work ?

Yeah they will both work but

There is four speed classes of 2, 4, 6, 10.
2 being the slowest and 10 the fastest.
I'm going with a class 10 (in which I already had)

Anything below a Class 10 will result in things like the scanner taking time to respond to your keypresses, slower transfer of recorded data, slower upload/download from Sentinel of your database updates and favorites lists, etc.

I just bought one of these 3 weeks ago...... $ 17.89... on ebay for my tablet. Personally I think 32GB is overkill. I got an 8GB for my backups. Its double and more than enough. To each his own
SanDisk 32GB Ultra Micro SD HC Class 10

Well I thought it was overkill as well BUT read all of this thread. Unless you're not in to recording then it would be overkill. The fact that I can record while I'm asleep or busy doing other things that is impossible to listen to the scanner is a added bonus to this scanner. Like taking a shower for instance. lol

The more memory you have the longer you can record.

What came with my 436 is a 4 gb class 4. Uniden designed the radio to work with a class 4. You say anything under a class 10 will result in slowness.

Did you mean anything under a class 4 would be slower (being that's whats in the radio) or do you have actual documentation stating that anything less then a class 10 will result in poor performance in these radios?

Just curious.
