NOTAM posted for ZDC that should be of interest effective tomorrow at 0930L:

ZDC COM BUCKS ELBOW REMOTE CENTER A/G 263.100 CHANGED TO 379.225 2510011330-PERM
Guess that new freq just barely keeps them out of the garage door band 380-399.9 :)
Many mil folks abandoned that range even though they are licensed for it.
I remember arguments some years ago about this issue.

Another reason is many military P25 systems are now in the 380-390 range

I guess still some on air use of Phillips AAF 126.150 as hearing WING-33 C-12 from McGuire inbound Aberdeen runway 4 talking to someone
on this freq but sounds like he is talking to another aircraft on runway so will do a 360 before landing.
Guess it is still a recently uncontrolled tower.

Yeah on my scanner especially in the AM I keep locking out freqs in search mode in that 380-387 band
with all the bases in the area using that range.. Seems to carry better in the morning.
Maybe ATC Mil UHF want to stay out of that range as well.

Coming East from Travis KC-46 #21-46097 BLUE-42 for McGuire I guess for some future Atlantic work.

Didn’t have my scanner nearby but I was able to grab some pictures.

OTIS02 KC130 170279
IRNHZ11 CH-53 170002

I’m use to KC135 and KC46 tankers around here, this was a pleasant surprise.

Off topic but related, a similar event will happen in Philadelphia on October 9, with the ships staging in the the New Castle area before proceeding up the Delaware River to Philadelphia.

Additionally of interest as part of this:

✭ Aviation Flyovers over the Delaware Valley ✭

Location: Philadelphia, Camden, Bucks, Montgomery and Delaware Counties, PA, Burlington, Gloucester, and Salem Counties, NJ, and New Castle County, DE
Duration: October 11-13
Time:
10 a.m., Noon, and 2 p.m.

Marvel as Navy and Marine Corps aircraft fly from Camden up the Delaware River, to Valley Forge, down the Schuylkill and Delaware Rivers to Wilmington, and through South Jersey to the Philadelphia riverfront. More details to be announced.

My scanner (Uniden BC365CRS) won't allow entry of any freq over 380MHz. I use my old, trusty RS-2045 to load in any freqs above 380 MHz, like some Giantkiller & Baton Ops.

Here's a list I have of milair above 380MHz.

Nice! I remember years ago when they towed the old JFK Carrier up to Philly..
New Castle battery park was a zoo and so I went up to Fox Point State park right off I-495
for much better views. The deep channel is closer to that shore and no morning Sun in your face
by the time ships get up that way.. Just a photo tip :)

Acars has a Rch 142 flight soon from MMMX Mexico City to KADW C-17 #09-9208..
Very rare to see C-17 type heavy down that way.. Normally not allowed without special Mex Govt permission.

WARLOK-2 Pax River DHC-6 Twin Otter in from Hagerstown with Dover apch 132.425 for a couple approaches at Dover.

RCH-1807 C-5M 69-0024 inbound Dover from Shaw AFB.. Did Europe to Shaw earlier so
assume dropped off some F-16 crews and gear.

I'll take that tip because I have a doc appt I can't miss on that morning at 9. So that will give me some leeway there. I've also had good settings shooting on the river past Bridgeport Speedway. And then there's Red Bank Battlefield Park further north.
