Wall Street Journal reports this morning:

The U.S. will send aging A-10 attack planes to swap for more advanced combat aircraft in the Middle East as part of a Pentagon effort to shift more modern fighters to the Pacific and Europe to deter China and Russia, U.S. officials said.
---
Under the new plan, a squadron of A-10s will be based in the region along with two squadrons of F-15Es and F-16s. Squadrons deployed to the region usually number about 12 planes.

Someone’s calling ZBW20 on 290.3, center is sending them to 292…

Think they just sent them over to JFK56 HI on 282.3. Just heard a flight of 4 not standard
Gettting Coms on A/A Vermont Maples F-35 freq 314.400 maybe related. Getting stronger here.
Chatting about wx at Dover in case of divert. Couple of PACK KC-46's 81,82 also running South not sure if related.
A/A 314.400 "you are clear to drag behind #2.. seems splitting up behind tankers.. Heard #4 count off too.

MAPLE 11 on KBTV clearance delivery was cleared "as filed" on a round robin back to KBTV.

For a quick review here are the AUX freqs they normally use for A-A.

AUX 13 = 226.300
AUX 14 = 238.250
AUX 15 = 261.800
AUX 16 = 314.400
AUX 17 = 234.800
AUX 18 = 226.800
AUX 19 = 349.700

Also HIFI 21 climbed up from FL250 around Buffalo. Looks like they might have split from someone ?

Seeing the UPS 747-8 out of PHL was a topic yesterday, here's a view taken in January. Funny story about this particular photo. This flight is scheduled for Cologne every weekday morning at 9:15 or so. I was wrapping up shooting planes out of PHL in the swampy NJ areas that morning. It was nearing 11 and no 747 in sight, but I'd captured a number of big boys so was pretty happy. Then I realized I was missing my lens cap on my big 200-500mm lens. So instead of heading home, I needle-in-a-haystacked my way back to every place I’d been, in case I’d set it on the car and forgotten about it. As I approached the very first place I sussed out that morning, on a 1.5-lane, barely-paved road, sure enough, there was the lens cap. I retrieved it, turned the car around, drove a bit then pulled over to send a text. And right then, along came the plane I had most wanted to shoot in the first place, this huge, beautiful Boeing 747-800, just off the ground with engines screaming, running very late but perfectly positioned for my purposes above me and in semi-profile. Moral of the story: lost lens cap = opportunity.
🙂

Is C17 BOE22 from McGuire using a Boeing callsign? Going to Warner Robbins according to FlightRadar.

Picking up 134th FS 226.8 now but with less than a bar of reception strength.
Rgr Boeing pickup for Depot work..Sometimes have heard Boeing crew of only 2-3 guys to pick them up.

Canada getting new Casa SAR plane delivered today.. (C2BD48) CFC-1016

PACK-81 turning offshore NC and dropping down.. Maybe MAPLE's working down that way too.

I haven't heard these guys call a center though.
