The following NAS Norfolk frequencies were active this afternoon:

239.45 East Helicopter common
263.5 VAW-124 Bear Aces air-air
277.7 VAW-124 Bear Aces air-air
279.525 GCA
290.5 Chambers Field /Helicopter Tower
328.3 VAW-120 Greyhawk Ops
379.15 Chambers Field Tower

And then there’s 355.4 which had what sounded like some weak air-air traffic. Years ago this was listed for NAS Norfolk as “CINCLANT airborne command post”. According to Ron, in the mid-90's CINCLANT was changed to Joint Forces Command. Neither one of us knows what that freq is used for today.

Two NOTAMs have been posted for ZNY’s RCAG at Ship Bottom, NJ. 257.725 is out of service since yesterday afternoon until 2359L on September 10. And the same freq will be out of service on September 12 from 1400L until 2000L.

257.725 does not appear in the RRDB for ZNY at any RCAG.

The RRDB is really good but I've noticed that it misses a few items, including RCAGs. No doubt it's a simple matter of RR members not yet noticing and posting changes. The FAA used to publish a book (Remember those things? They were paper.) which listed the freqs for all of the airports and RCAGs. It was updated several times a year and I always bought the updates. But we're talking more than ten years ago. It would be logical for the FAA not to care about listing RCAGs now, since anyone who flies into their airspace would be given the freq by the controller he was leaving. I, on the other hand, have actually walked along ridges to see them.

Seeing 6 C-130's in a bit of a conga line, transiting across the Susquehanna River just south of Sayre PA. Looks like they came from Bangor ME. Just a heads up to anyone in visual or listening range.
Heading back to Dyess.

WARDOG yesterday went to NAS Jacksonville.
This morning a different SPORT01 A-10 was heading east from Hill AFB.

Now there are two C-5M's at KADW awaiting trip.. Prob go later tonight.
RCH-4155 C-5M #87-0045 arrived last night from Dover
RCH-4132 C-5M #86-0020 also did earlier.. Lot of gear/vehicles just with those two birds.

Currently have SEAGULL 16 on 233.800 working USS Basilone (DDG122) off the coast of Maine. Multiple inbound and outbound runs start with COMEX then finish with FINEX. Not much said other than, "BASILONE Test, SEAGULL 16 inbound run # COMEX" , etc.
