Security at the Mid-South Fair is using talkgroup 17776. I haven't yet been able to figure out whether Fair security is being handled by MPD only, or a joint op between MPD and Shelby County.

Have fun!

The cable is only used to program the scanner using the computer. And the talkgroup number is the MOT#. You would have to check the database here for frequencies, or use the scanner in search mode to find differnet frequencies not listed.

No it will not. You only have 10 banks to program systems in. You'll be doing good to use only half the banks. The scanner doesn't automatically switch between systems. If you travel, you'll have to add those systems in. You can use the V-Folder system, and have basically 10 scanners in one, just switch between the different folders as you travel.

But you still have to program all the different individual folders for different systems.

For switching between systems automatically, look into the new Uniden 996t mobile. It has GPS capabilities, for switching between systems that you program into it, based on radio tower locations.

Gold Scanner Award for Neal

Is Neal amazing or what? I'd like to nominate him for the Golden Scanner Award for his Mid-South Fair frequencies. But also all the others he's contributed as well. I saw the news story on the front page of RR today where Hezbollah hacked into Israeli radios which gave them an edge in the recent war. I'm glad Neal's on our side.
