The FCC had an pending application / modification received on 10/27/11 for a new VHF radio system for the PD, callsign WQBP299.

AND
ULS Application - Public Safety Pool, Conventional - 0004930349 - MIDDLEBURY, TOWN OF

The frequencies listed are;
154.7775 - Mobile and FB2
151.1225 - FB2 and FB2S
159.2175 - Mobile and FB2
158.9025 - Mobile

I know they had coverage issues with the old low-band radios for years and were trying to update their radios. Have to keep an ear out for when they are testing or if this is actually old news.

Middlebury PD is up on a VHF digital encrypted system, about 8 months now. Fire went on VHF about 2 years ago, system sounds good from the valley :)

When you look at the FCC Application page, look under "Trans Log". That will show what changes have been submitted to the FCC.

It looks like they have changed from Utility Comm to NE Comm, are adding
a site on Breakneck Rd using 159.2175, and changing from the FD to PD for mail sent by the FCC.

Ummm....okay. Can you fix your sentence structure so its readable please. I'm not trying not to knock you but I do not understand what your are trying to get at.

But what I can gather is that you are trying to program in 159.2175 into your scanner and its not going in? More than likely your scanner is an older model and does not accept the new VHF narrow band splits. It will just round up to the next frequency under the old splits. Also you will not hear MPD anyway as the guys previously said in the thread the transmissions are encrypted (scrambled), you'll just get noise.

159.3175 (I don't know why that freq came up) is not a 7.5KHz channel so it should not be able to be entered when set at 7.5KHz steps.
159.2175 is a legit channel so the scanner will take it. If a previous channel or the default is set for 15KHz, 159.2175 will not go in. Go to STEP and change it to 7.5KHz and then re-enter the frequency.

Check the instruction manual that came with the scanner. There is step by step directions.
