Carteret Police have made the switch to the County TRS as of this past Monday, and are in ENC mode. TG numbers are in the 110x range. I suspect that Fire will be making a switch over eventually, as I see talkgroup numbers assigned to them. OEM was first on the system for Carteret, and my contact told me that coverage was superior for them.

Talkgroups 10121 &10125 are Middlesex Boro Police assigned. I'm thinking they are some sort of Tac/Detective talkgroups.
TG 887 I think is Edgeboro Landfill Ops (Middlesex County Improvement Authority [MCIA] assigned) since their VHF simplex channel went silent a few months ago.
TG 885 might be MCIA assigned as well.
TG 943 might be the Medical Examiner's Office, but I'm still trying to hunt that one down as well. No voice, just affiliations.

Yep! I’ve only been seeing affiliations! Thanks buddy.

I'm listening to this system for the first time in a while. Highland Park PD dispatch is in the clear (mobile units are encrypted). Is this always the case? The database indicates full time E. Also I'm not hearing New Brunswick FD at all. Are they still active on this system?

New Brunswick FD primarily operates on NJICS. I can’t speak to their use of talk groups on the county system but I can say positively that their NJICS talk groups usage is consistent.

Yes, NBFD on NJICS is quite consistent. You're talking both fire calls in the city, and then EMS First Responder assignments from MedCentral at the same time. Sometimes things will cross their Middlesex TG, other times not. It intrigues me to see so many Rutgers IDs come up on Middlesex considering NJICS is their home.

I have been curious for a while- does Rutgers do some sort of Fire Marshal/Inspection operation beyond the Rutgers campuses, maybe filling holes for the county's offices? Their radio IDs have also filled up on Somerset County's system too for OEM, so any information is appreciated.

You do realize that Rutgers is dispatching for multiple Msex agencies.

Also, Rutgers EMS does extensive mutual aid for a multitude of local municipalities, MedCentral, and JFK Control so that may be the affiliation you see.

Yes, of course. Seen them rolling around, and have caught them on RWJ Comm 1 and Comm 2 doing mutual aid, and Northwest Interop Region 2 for Somerset County. It's been a plethora of ID ranges from Rutgers' pool, and Middlesex County fire officials using 12304XX radios instead of 1200s on Somerset when going to Dunellen that caught my attention.

I was told recently that Rutgers dispatches not only New Brunswick, but also Metuchen, Middlesex College, and Highland Park on the Middlesex County P25 TRS.
