Middlesex County

Hello All,

I have put the Middlesex County Trunking system in my bcd396t and I have yet to hear a word. I am not interested in hearing public works only public safety. They have the sheriff department, prosecutor etc.. Can someone tell me if these talkgroups are ENC. Can I monitor this system? I am located in North Brunswick NJ and I hace full signal bars on the scanner. Does anyone in the area listen and have you heard anything on the system?

As far as i know all Public Safety Agency on the TRS are using ProVoice a digital mode not receivable on any scanner. So the only talk groups you will be able to track are the ones that are listed in the database as analog don`t know how up to date the info is i had the system in and heard very little traffic. no PBS

Also check to see if you have all the channels entered in the order that are listed on the database page link below. EDAC Systems must have all the channels entered in the exact order that are listed

The following departments are NOT Provoice and can be monitored

Highways and Bridges (Including snow plowing)
Road Repair
Vehicle Maintenance and Towing
Area-wide Transportation Buses
Health Department (only part)

Prosecutor, Sheriff, Hazmat, Fire Coordinator, District EMS Coordination, Emergency Management, Weights and Measures and Medical Examiner ARE all Provoice and cannot be monitored with commercial scanners.

Thank you for responding to my question. So it appears that the items I am interested in monitoring are not receivable through my scanner. I am looking to hear public safety not roads etc... Thank you again for providing this information.
