The other day I saw an interesting setup... a friend of mine from SC was here helping a local HAM guy get his repeater tuned after having to replace his ants after high winds ate the others he had,.. Well my friend has an older Chevy full sized van, on top he has three ant rigs,.. one is a scanner nmo, one is a mag mount CB, and the third is the coolest,... It is a fold down, rotating dual yagi design, both 2 meter and 6 meter. It was so cool to be driving around the area, and then doing a spot check,.. watching the yagi fold up, then slowly spin till the signal was strongest. If it was not too hard to do this would be an interesting setup to try.

But I would not reccomend it on a sports car LOL...

Not sure, will have to ask him soon. I do know he likes to make HT rigs for foxhunting. But to me it would just be a pain for a scanner to hold up a mini yagi and do the spin and point, LOL. But for the HAM folks, and hardcore tech hounds testing stuff, this is probably fun.

I have seen older LoJack units modified to do the same thing. That was neat.
