FAST is almost certainly one of the 509th BW T-38As - they transit quite a bit. Also note that the NY ANG [174th FW] will no longer fly the F-16; they will lose their few remaining aircraft over the next month or so...they now fly the MQ-9.

BUCKEYE 91 was probably a 178th FW jet leaving on/returning from a trip.

Listening to Milair Traffic...

I'm using a PRO-2051, and wanting to tune into ANY military traffic in, around or going through the Cedar Rapids area. I realize I don't have the best freq. ranges out there, but that will change next year. Can anyone shoot some basic freqs. that I can tune some milair traffic? My scanners freq. ranges are as listed below:

25.0000-27.9950 MHz (in 5 kHz steps)
28.0000-29.9950 MHz (in 5 kHz steps)
30.0000-49.9950 MHz (in 5 kHz steps)

Finally broke down and purchased a BCD396xt,so this is my first shot at MIL-AIR. I have been reading through posts, and WIKIs, but still have a ways to go. My only other MIL-AIR scanner is an ICOM IC-R2, (and an extended freq. PRO96). Been hearing quite a bit of talk between 2-3 pm today on 311.3000, and 233.4000. Both Hawkeye, and Cyclone callsigns were used. This is one part of the scanning hobby I havent done a lot of. Are there any lists of different ANG callsigns used, and home bases? As I said this is all kind of new to me, any suggestions would be appreciated. I should say I am in central Iowa, I have the 132nd. fighter wing freq. and the 105 refueling freq. in my 396, any others that I should try? Thanks again for any help, Mike

Just heard the THUNDERBIRDS getting ready to refuel in AR105. Just happened to get lucky at 1045am this morning . 238.9000 and 141.0750. Pretty awesome, I am starting to really like the MIL-AIR stuff! Sounded like they were headed to Las Vegas. Mike
