That's not a easy question, but I'll try. First start by reading the wiki file here; VHF/UHF Military Monitoring - The Radio Reference Wiki

Then read the RR forum under military monitoring here; First Time listeners - The RadioReference.com Forums

Your very close to the Crypt MOA ( Military operations area) It covers a large area of north western Iowa.

I don't usually hear the Crypt moa from my location useless they are flying high or the weather conditions are just right. I can hear the east end of the air refuel route.

While you are in Pennsylvania there are two moa's, one in the north central part of the state and the other on the coast. They also have several training routes.

While traveling i often use the Radio shack mobile antenna Model: 20-032
Catalog #: 20-032

wn0r Brian may be able to answer your Crypt questions

I am in Iowa near Cedar Rapids and I am using a DB4 TV antenna that is on a broom handle and leaning on my deck rail :) Also have about 100 feet of RG6 so not what I call a good scanner setup or even a great HD TV (which is what I bought it for) setup. I will have to add a amp for the HD it works fine in good weather but sucks in anything else. I will also get it on the roof this weekend if it stays cool I hate getting on a hot roof!
I think I will get an Antennacraft scanner antenna they are about 50.00 so not bad.
