There is going to be a military excercise today and over the weekend. There are supposed to be some CH-147 Chinooks as part of it. They are coming out of Petawawa going to Ottawa and then heading this way. Does anyone know of any common training frequencies? I will probably try to venture out with my SDS100.

Other announcements say there will be OPP, EMS, RCMP possibly others involved so possibly will be using common to all frequencies.
Note, the parkway will be closed to the public. I was picking up some chatter on my 125AT Friday on a public emergency frequency. Not sure if it was them though.

A few minutes ago OPP said OSARVA was taking over command post, OPP has been fairly quiet since compared to before that announcement, trying to find information on OSARVA.
I saw in a facebook group (North Dundas? ) that last night there were many choppers flying low, guessing they were transporting solders and equipment

I heard that handoff as well, I was driving by the area at that time. The RPAS guy was busy. Some MP's were around plus some extra OPP. Nothing at all at the Morrisburg airport. Ceiling is too low. :( . I have never heard of OSARVA until earlier either. I haven't seen any reports of choppers yet.

Ah ha!

I added their frequencies but not hearing anything here. I am likely too far away. Might try and take a trip that way tomorrow.
From TAFL, OSARVA 149.0800 151.0550 151.1150 Ontario wide.

if your able to capture any activity TGs and additional information would be nice. Many simplex transmissions now use a TG as well as a NAC. Most scanners will ignore the TG on a simplex frequency and pick up the activity anyway. I suspect that there will be activity in the 400-425 area. Usually this type of exercise uses 'pool radios' provided by the exercise co-ordinator. There may be some cross system patches set up and tested but then abandoned once they are verified to work. The 'pool radios' will be where the action is.

Early this morning on my 125AT (7:30 ish) I heard some clear voice a few times on OSARV 151.1150 but not enough conversation to know for sure it was them.
Also around the same time I was picking up occasional static on Emergency Management 2, 148.6850
Both have been quiet since then in Iroquois area.
When at home I just have my scanners spliced off my TV antenna on a 40' tower.
I wont be able to make it to the area today :(
