Does anyone have a list of frequencies from last years airshow? I know the blue angles are going to be here this year and several other air displays. Anyone with frequencies would be a big help

Any good frequencies for public safety / police stuff at the lake front parks? This is always such a busy event.

You won't hear any MPD since they are on OPEN SKY but MFD is on 154.385 and 159.150( 2 main channels) Think about putting in Milwaukee County Sheriff special events talk group which can be found on this site. Or, program the repeater imput frequencies if you will be close to the event.

Tried getting a foto of the F18 that was buzzing around this afternoon. No luck. Will keep trying! Keep the freqs coming.

I live just a few miles from Mitchel Field and the first F18 of the day just buzzed the tree tops!

Light was pretty flat. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow.

09 / 10 Platform

Looking through my notes I can't find the platform freqs which were used in 2009. Hopefully we'll find the platform freqs this evening (?). Should anyone stumble across these posting here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Happy Scanning! - Ted

Update:

Heard a F18 around 12:30pm, a little bit of chatter on the scanner - "PULLLLLLL ..... PULLLLLL", but not much. It was raining here at the time, but since I was heading out anyway, I grabbed the camera. Rain passed, sun came out ... BUT down at the Air Show it's 63 degrees with moderate fog rolling in and out. Dunno if they can fly through that soup or not. Maybe a fly by, but nothing intense I imagine. With all the construction and rush hour approaching I'm not going to go back today. Another time perhaps. Radio pretty quiet right now.

Well, I was wrong. They DID fly! Didn't have a radio along though. Too busy to tune around anyway. Should be a great show this weekend.

Saturday

I was out at the south end of the show line all day yesterday. Sorry to report the platform wasn't on the air long enough for me to snag their frequency off the air. Nice little water show but low ceiling at Mitchell prevented any flying. I think 129.950 had been used in previous years but my suspicion is something else is in use at the show site.

An unknown spotter jet was sent up to check the ceiling at the show site at one point and was relaying his reports back to Chicago Center Milwaukee on 123.825.

Milwaukee County Sheriff using their Parks and Special Event 1 talk groups on the analog trunked system at the show, good listening and pretty busy. Never heard Milwaukee Fire on the 159 Channel. Marine Band is worth monitoring here. Kept up to date by using Mitchell ATIS on 126.400. Took a little wandering around to find a sweet spot where I could hear it at the show site on a hand held, but it can be done.

Heard one quick Blue Angels transmission on 255.200 (AM), but that may have been from on the ground at Mitchell. I drove by the airport both en-route and on the way home, quite a crowd at the observation area and all along both sides of Layton Ave out there.

Hope you good folks get a nice show in today. Happy Scanning! - Ted

Unless I heard wrong or from inaccurate info, I think the THUNDERBIRDS are here this year.
