So with my BCD436HP, when I just did a "hold" on OASIS, there were just too many talkgroups to scan through, and I was consistently missing half the transmission. T

There are probably cheaper scanners for you to listen to P25, but I can confirm that the BCDx36HP work well for what you want to do.

Thanks for checking that. Going to look for a newer scanner that will allow me to continue to follow this activity.

Just a quick question about my 436HP. For example, if I enable priority for Wauwatosa Fire but programed a Waukesha Talk group in the same system, could I hold one of the Waukesha groups and still have Tosa come up? After all, they are part of the same system so I'm just wondering and still learning of the wonderful features of this new gem.

This thread seems like it might be helpful, but not totally answers the question... Sixth post from the top:

Hey Crabby!

I think it’s too early to answer that question given Waukesha is just now going online. My best guest is no due to separate simulcast sites. That said, I am could be completely wrong. How’s it going with the new radio?

You’re probably right in that just wait and see until the Waukesha side starts to become more active.
I love my 436. I prefer to do my own programming when I can that way I have a true custom plan.

Same here! I prefer custom programming. I have had very little luck with zip code searching.

I use zip code for when I’m lazy, which is generally, and for monitoring nearby ham repeaters.

But when I custom program for EAA or especially Road America, I’d be horrible without being able to assign numbers to everything and quickly turn them off and on mid-race.

Yea, that's where the problem comes in, I'm not sure either. LOL Last time I programmed it I pulled the info off of this site.. Not sure how to do it..

Were you able to get your Pro-106 working with the new Oasis system? Was looking to get a used Pro-106 to be able to listen again and one of the listings specifically said that the Pro-106 would not pick up P25 Phase 2 systems. Is Oasis Phase 1 or 2 or is there a change that they will go from Phase 1 to Phase 2 in the future?

In other words a full time patch? I'll have to check it out when I get home.
So is it the MFD main channel?

Sounds like the ISSI gateway is up and running between Milwaukee FD and OASIS as of today.

I was hearing the same thing, through the Mil. Co. FireComm feed --- I was just in Milwaukee a month ago. It seems it's their Dispatch talkgroup. Is this on a new Talkgroup, or through FIreComm?

Which TG number is "firecom" on OASIS? FWIW, I see MPD has 1227 as a patch. I doubt it's full time but something anyway.

Sounds like it's down now.

I noticed a short break for a while around noon also, but it's been busy again since about 1:00 p.m. on.

Part of the quiet may be because I'm noticing a few trends...

During the initial call on the MFD Dispatch channel, a Profile # and Talkgroup # are assigned.

EMS/more routine calls get assigned a higher Talkgroup #. Fire/more significant calls are assigned a lower Talkgroup #. I read in MCOEM talkgroup documentation that Profile 13 is for "high-rise incidents". I'm not sure what Profile 1-Profile 4 are intended for. Anyone else know? Profile 1 seems to be the most used. For most Profiles, only Talkgroup 2 is patched.

It also seems that some units report en-route/on-scene/etc. using their computers and only advise dispatch over the radio some of the time. For many EMS calls, I'll hear the initial call on Dispatch and then not much else until the unit hails Milwaukee County Paramedic Base on those channels.
