Minitor Pager Question

I am looking to buy a Minitor II Pager or newer. I have looked on ebay and have trouble finding one for the frequency i need which is 154.1600. and i cant find any on ebay programmed on that. so i was wonder if you know where i can get a used one with programming included. and is my frequency UHF,VHF or lowband? Thanks

Also be forewarned that many Min II parts are becoming NLA (No Longer Available).

It may be less expensive to get a Minitor III or IV and have it programmed. As stated above, the Minitor II takes reeds and crystals which can easily cost $50.

so if i get a minitor 3 then how is it programmed instead of crytals and reeds? and did g &g progrqam it for you or you brought it to the moto dealer

Just an FYI folks - I am not sure if you can order a Minitor 3 or 4 anymore due to the new 5 finally being available real soon. Also - its probably not worth all that $ to change a freq and tones ( crystal, tone reeds, bench tech labor ) for a Minitor 2 unless he knows someone in the business that wont charge him and arm/leg. Just a thought.......

If you are authorized to be on the system, kenwood has a nice 16 channel vhf portable (TK-2160 I think) that will do 2 tone paging, CTCSS, DCS, scans, and you can talk to the dispatcher too. Of course it won't record like some minitors. Less than $300.00 with charger & Battery.

If you are authorized to be on the system, kenwood has a nice 16 channel vhf portable (TK-2160 I think) that will do 2 tone paging, CTCSS, DCS, scans, and you can talk to the dispatcher too. Of course it won't record like some minitors. Less than $300.00 with charger & Battery.

i am authorized to be on the system but, the reason for me getting a pager is to stop carrying around my scanner, as the department does not have any pagers left to give me id figure id just buy one instead of putting wear and tear on my bc246t. thanks for the suggestion though

Best price may likely be eBay. Check with your local dealer, too. G&G was mentioned above.

I have delt with the following, not to say one is better then the other:
G&G Communications, Falcon wireless, P&W service center, there are many others, put used minitor 2 pagers in your search engine and that will get you started, my advice to you is if this is just temporary until they get some more pagers then get the used Shinwas from G&G, cheaper, will alert on your tones and you can sleep at night without hearing every call in your area! If not you have alot of choices including biting the bullet and buying a new minitor 5. hope this helped you some more. Mark
