I am interested in learning more about monitoring specifically the Minneapolis Police 1st Precinct. It looks like 2956 MPLS PD 2 DI is the correct talkgoup. I am just wondering if they are always on a 3 or 4 channel dispatch. If I recall correctly, way back when they were old fashioned, analog, narrow band FM, that at some point they would reduce the number of dispatch channels, say from 0200 to 0600, or whatever. Does that ever happen any more or is the Ist Precinct pretty much on the above talkgroup for dispatch no matter what?

They are 2 channel when call volume is low, as the day gets busy they increase to 3 and sometime 4 channels. They make these announcements to this on MPD All.
