Minot PD New World System

When listing to the Minot PD Live feed. I keep on hearing when they run a name for a check in New World. The dispatcher says he got a 10-0 ( USE CAUTION ) For having a Scanner. To me come on now people can hear them on the online scanner and around the World. They should just put EVERONE in the world all 6 Billion people in New World system for having a scanner. That should take care of that.

I do not hear that when I listen. Officer cautions are used when the person being encountered has a history of violence or threats of violence or otherwise has a history which would cause an officer to want to take extra precautions. Minot Central operates under the assumption that everyone has a scanner and does not regard public scanner use as something bad. Scanner info only goes into New World when a criminal is known to use a scanner. Dispatch may advise the officers that the individual might have a scanner, but they do not use 10-0 simply for a scanner.
