I live in Northwest Alabama (Marion County - Hamilton). I have programmed the low band mhp frequencies, and have not heard a voice. What MHP frequencies should I put in my radio that I could hear in My location?

Districts 4, and 5...

42.1200, and 42.1600 for dispatch.

42.1800, and 42.3000 for mobiles.

45.3200 for the district repeater.

158.9700, and 154.9350 for the mobile repeaters.

You most likely will ony hear the dispatches unless your close to the units.

The good news is that within a few years if all works well, MS will have a statewide TRS..... Most likely an ASTRO-25 one,... unknown yet if they will lean more towards 800, UHF, or VHF yet.

At the hairdresser's, past the liquor store.
Hey Scannerman200. You should hear MHP New Albany on 42.160 fairly decently in Marion County. And another one Milf already listed, 45.320 should be active from your location.

Move you scanner around, especially toward a window, and give it a shot.

Yeah listeing to MHP is rather tricky and I cant hear much from the Batesville office here in Nesbit......but when I am in Memphis near the THP office I can hear their repeater.....but I they are also on the low band as well......I hope that MHP switches repeaters soon....would be so very cool...LOL

I haven't read articles regarding this but is MS leaning towards Motorola or M/A-COM? Or is it questionable as of now that you know?

Last I talked to anyone in the know,.. its gonna be a Motorola ASTRO-25.. unknown as of bandwidth .. but most of MDPS seems to like the way the M's stuff works for trunking.. MDOC has several times expressed disssatisfaction with thier EDACS Aegis system.... Still unknown if MDWF&P will drop thier sat net and go to the new TRS....

Its still at least two years off before anything is concrete...

But I can tell you that the central MS Mototrola's are being studied closely....
Hinds *soon to have Jackson on it*, Rankin, Madison, Ridgeland, Vicksburg, Warren, and Washington.....
