Mississauga and Toronto OPP Frequencies not working

I programmed Toronto and Mississauga OPP frequencies into my BC250D and the scanner will not pick them up. Has anyone else had this problem? If so is there a way to fix it, or has the frequencies changed.

i have the butel software and all my other OPPs work just fine. Its just the Toronto and Mississuaga OPP.

for Mississauga 141.4200* 142.1850 142.3650 142.6650* 142.9950

For Toronto 141.3000 142.1100 142.6800* 142.9050* 143.6400


Also in your talk about programming the scanner you said about FM and NFM, which one is the best to use for OPP, mine are set to FM is that ok and should i change them? What is the big difference between FM and NFM?

Check your trunk bank setting for each of the banks not working.
Be sure 141.015, step 15 offset 380 are correct. As well check your file that all freq's are set to "trunk on"

everything is ok and set properly. Trunking is on and i have tried different banks and still same thing. :?: :?:

Where are you located? Which frequencies do you see you get? Toronto's, Mississauga's?

What is the signal strength of the towers you can get?

I live in Burlington Ontario. about 70 km from toronto and 50 from mississuaga.

Set up a search between 142.000 and 144.000 , does the radio stop on the control channel freq's?
Maybe the radio is not picking up these? If you can't receive these then you cannot listen to these towers........

Also where are there towers located in mississuaga and toronto. Does your scanner work with the toronto and mississuaga frequencies. If so where abouts do you live that you get these.

It may also be the fact that he is quite a distance from the two sites he's trying to monitor.

I live out by High Park.

Depending on which room I am in I can trunk fleetnet on the following towers, T.O., Miss, Grimsby, N.Falls and Hamilton. Primarily the tower I monitor is Toronto.

Punch in the control channel frequencies for T.O. 142.905 and Miss's 141.420 I think.

If you hear a signal on them, you can trunk track them.

If i turn the squelch right down i hear static on those channels. Is that the sound you are talking about.

You should hear a continuous machine-gun sound if you are
tracking the control channels.

Pages 36 and 37 in the owner's manual describe how to enter Search
ranges.
Once you master that, you can hear how many tower sites your radio
will pick up. Are you using the original antenna or are you connected
to a roof- top antenna?
A better antenna may be the answer.

I dont think that matters, I set it to NFM on my 296D.

Two different settings that aren't related.

Fleetnet frequencies need to be set to Motorola trunking so the scanner will recognize them as being part of the trunk system.

They also need to be set to NFM as that's the correct modulation setting for the system.

I set all my opp frequencies to Mo trunk and there working fine, i have a pro 96. No problem hearing any of them in my area. Where is the NFM located on my scanner. All i see is AM, FM, ED and CT nothing else. But everythings working just fine so im leaving it alone. Sorry for the questions im just new to this.
