MJF-1910 Fiber Glass Antenna Mast

I came across this Telescopic Fiber Glass Mast (MFJ-1910) sold by MJF Enterprises, and was wondering if anyone has tried anything like this as a semi-temporary antenna mast, and is it worth the $79.00 they are asking for it? I will be attaching a sput atenna to a scanner.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I also have a question about this fiber glass mast....is this something that you could attach another antenna too, such as a discone ? Thanx..jim
