MN Wild Fires

Saw a short clip of workers rescuing campers in the BWCA and noticed they’re talking on BK portables.

Anyone logging any activity up north for the fires? Are they using the MNDNR VHF frequencies at all? Any federal frequencies being used?

Might head up that way before long and figured I’d try to listen to some of the activity.

The Wildfire feed includes State and Federal VHF/UHF FM simplex and repeaters, air band AM freqs used by the fire attack, water bombers, and helicopters plus ARMER talk groups used by the various Iron Range fire departments that are assisting with structure protection and evacuation.

The other is NE Minnesota Law, Fire, MnDot, and St. Louis County roads, both ARMER and VHF FM

I tried listening to your feed for the Wildfire Ops, and it mostly sounded like static from what I could hear. I'm afraid I don't have anything helpful to suggest beyond that. On the other hand, the North St. Louis County feed sounded good.

Listen for air attack on 119.55 am.
they will give out frequencies for air to air and air to ground communications.
monitor 168.65 national flight following.
168. 625 for air guard

Came up 53 today. Once past cook, was picking up allot of fire transmissions. Up by kabetogama. Heavy winds blowing east.
