I am going to be getting a SDS 200 and was wondering if anyone had any advise on a mobile antenna for the 800 mhz slater system. I am going to be starting a new fire chasing youtube channel, I plan on going to pretty much anywhere in St. Louis county and possibly St. Charles County. Any suggestions are welcome, better to have a ton of options than just one. I would prefer it be a magnet mount so I can mount it on my trunk, but I'm willing to try something else if anyone has good advise. Thanks in advance!

The simple and basic answer would be to get a 700/800/900 MHz antenna. If you use a mag mount then you should get one with a NMO mount. That way you can switch out antennas if you want down the road.

Larsen NMO3HD800, or if you want something more discrete and cheap, a Laird QWB760. I don't know what you're driving, but a permanently mounted NMO installation can't be beat. That's for antenna performance, and to avoid the peripheral issues common to using mag mounts.
