Got a major point of the install this week while off work.

Antennas just arrived so I have taken a few pics.

Where the ft-8800 head will be mounted, The main body of the radio still needs to be installed in the glove compartment.

The 3500xlt on a vent mount, A little unsecure so we will see if it's mounted differently when I have more cash.

This is my first major install. I went with the hatchback mounts in the end as I saw drilling holes too much work and could put someone off if I ever came to sell it.

All coax/wiring will be ran so it's descrete as mechanicly possible and protected by wiring loom (flexible conduit).

Next job is to install a 2nd batt to run all the TX radios off such as the ic-706 and ft-8800.
The icom 706 still needs to be installed after the batt aswell as a mount for it.

Unless you are planning on using some amps, I doubt you will need to install a 2nd battery.

the main car battery is 35ah, Yes thats right... A measly 35ah.

Still think I don't need a 2nd batt? I think I do.

70 amps.

I will usually be tx'in when static and I don't want the engine running all the time.
