I noticed a commuter bus operated by Academy in downtown Manhattan today has a mobile radio (MCS2000) installed at the opeartor's position. Does anyone know what frequency/system does the radios operate on?

In NJ they use the New Jersey Transit Trunked System, not sure about NY, maybe they were out of NJ. Here is the link.

I'm pretty sure that the NJT north TRS reaches quite well into Manhattan. I would assume that they stay on the same TGID the whole way in...

Thanks, I'm having a pretty bad reception of the NJT system here in Queens, but I shall try the reception in Manhattan later.

In addition to the trunked NJTransit frequencies, Academy bus radios are equipped with 2 additional channels for their charter operations. The frequencies are duplex:

854.6625
859.7875
