Mobile scanner legality?

I'm a NH resident, but I've started working in Boston, so I threw the Boston PD frequencies in my radio.

Is Massachusetts one of the states where it's illegal to use a scanner in the car? And, if so, are they one of the states that provides exemptions for licensed hams?

Nothing illegal about having a scanner in your car in MA.

Hi Fog:

FYI - I verified this directly with the police chief in my NH town as I travel between the 2 states each day for work as well. Thanksfully, we are in the clear in both NH & MA, with no Ham license requirement either.

Perfectly legal both in MA and NH. I live in MA but travel often to NH and ME. I have a Pro-97 in my car conncted to an external antenna.
