I got a discone antenna, Antennacraft ST4, being used for receiving only. I have no plans to do transmitting on it.
I want to do some changes to it, but wanted to know pros and cons.
Antenna: Antennacraft ST4
Cabling Used: RG6 quad shielded
Uses: OTA DTV and police scanners
Location of antenna: Mounted on the roof attached to a vent pipe.
Issue: Height issue from roof preventing me of attached the the lower long rod elements.
I get great reception of police/fire frequencies from 39MHz to 500MHz and getting great OTA DTV reception.
What if I put the longer rods in the middle section and short rods for lower section instead of the normal setup?
