I have a BCD436HP. Can i hear all the Law enforcement with this radio.? The law dispatch tag is turned on. I can hear fire.

It would appear that yes , you can hear the law enforcement minus a few encrypted channels.

The BCD436HP should support P25 Phase I.

Id recommend loading this system into your favorites list and not just the conventional frequencies.

Well, ca01 shows as being in Stockton. Presently most law enforcement there is P25 Conventional. You can use just about any P25 capable radio for that. But Modesto is in Stanislaus county and is on the trunked system referenced in post 2. That brings up many issues. If anyone changes to Phase II or if you're in a situation that suffers from Simulcast Distortion, then your present radio is likely lacking.

I live in stockton but work all of central ca. Right now i am sitting in Modesto and hear fire and ems clear but not a work out of law so i am going to take it this radio can not pick up law here

I assume you've programmed this system. Please note this is marked as a "Simulcast" system. While several Modesto PD channels are encrypted, and therefore not monitorable, a few, including Dispatch, are not. Ironically if you're near a tower, you may have "too much signal". The only realistic solution is to use a receiver that properly handles a Simulcast system. Presently the only scanners that can do that are the SDS-100 & SDS-200.
