I am using Win500 for programming my Pro-106 and 197.
Most Conv frequencies I'm interested in are VHF High, 151 - 170 MHz. The users manual states that in most cases, it is sufficient to just set MODE to "Auto" rather than FM or NFM. I tried entering some of the local frequencies three different ways, Auto, FM and NFM and reception seems pretty much the same on each. I did notice that when a channel entered as "Auto" received traffic, the display showed "FM" instead of NFM.
Aren't all Public Safety stations on VHF High now on NFM? Has anyone noticed any difference between setting MODE in NFM or FM as opposed to Auto?
