Now that CodiacTranspo is « back in business » it would be nice to monitor them for delays and stuff. Search the web for frequencies and found two : 171.6 and 173.55. I took the bus today and had my scanner in a pocket if my winter coat. The scanner was on « close call only » mode and when I checked it, no freqs where found/loged. The radio on the bus sounded to be a digital one (a bit robot-like), possibly P25 or voice scramble.

Is CodiacTranspo monitorable? if so, on what freq and what mode (analog or digital)?

Any help in this matter would be appreciated!

Happy New Year to all :)

As far as I know, and not being there I dont know much, they have one repeater with an output of 169.365 and input 173.55. Give the output a try and see what you come up with.

Any luck with the 169.365 Ralph??

I have 3 freqs programed into my scanner for CodiacTranspo. They are : 169.365, 171.6 and 173.55. So far, I never heard any voice transmission on them. Occasionally, my scannner stops on one of these frequency and it's dead air! The radios are digital from what I'm hearing when I'm on the bus. With that said, I occasionally hear some sort of data/digital noise on 169.365. My digital scanner cannot decode the transmission (the ENC letters does not appear on the scanner either when I hear the data/digital noise). I even scanned the Moncton Public Safety system and the Greater Moncton Commercial trunk systems on search mode with no luck.

As far as I can tell, they are not monitorable.

If I can venture a guess I would say that the system is MotoTrbo, a digital system that is not listenable except with a lot of extra computer manipulation, at least so I am told. For me personally that makes it unlistenable!

Yeah, I heard of such a system. My hometown's police service where in the process of switching from analog to MotoTRBO when I move to NB. I didn't get a chance to hear the « noise » it makes on a digital scanner so I had no frame of reference.

I found a sound library on my computer I downloaded, awhile ago, of different system's (data/voice) noise and the sound heard on the 169.xxx freq, is exactly the sound associated with a MotoTRBO system!
