• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Does anyone out there "Monitor AM Frequencies" in the northern portion of the state?
Even Upper or Lower Side Band? If so please post frequency/ channel & best time to listen. Need a decent distant "radio check".

Please specify which "AM" frequency band you are referring to... most, but not all scanners are stuck in FM mode for other than aircraft. What AM/LSB/USB/CW are you interested in and what equipment are you using in that mode to monitor? Perhaps we can narrow it down a bit and make some suggestions if we know a bit more about the details...
