I finally got the Software on my GRE 800 updated. It will scan the system unfortunately in additionally to receiving the D2 code I am Receiving the E code telling me the system is encrypted. All you hear is what sounds like a busy signal on a telephone.

That stinks - btw you can change the options on the PSR-800 if you don't want to hear the busy signal - you can choose silence (or you can choose to hear the scrambled signal). Doesn't help receive, but gets rid of that annoying busy signal.

Everything on the Columbia County system is encrypted. I have confirmed this through many hours of wildcard scanning.

I don't understand the full time encryption, they went from one extreme to another. Encrypting talk groups that may carry sensitive info I understand.... when they were on VHF the info I heard surely didn't merit the use of encryption. I don't trust an entity that deems it necessary to hide everything. So much for citizens assisting them if they hear anything on their scanners:(

I was scanning Columbia County setup as a wildcard and have been unable to get anything. For a while I was getting the encrypted garble, with talk group and CC/VC info. Now it stops on a transmission, I hear nothing and their is a faint display of a 902.7875 frequency. That does not sound right. Any ideas?
