Monitoring DMR Programming Conventional

If I program my 325P2 in conventional mode on DMR frequencies, will I be able to still hear the DMR, even though it is not programmed as DMR?

I understand there would be no continuity of the conversations

Yes, but the scanner will hang on any control channel in the mix.

Why, in ID search mode, does the color and slot not appear. At least it does not for me with the particular DMR system I am monitoring
