Monitoring Durham Outside of the City

Hey Everyone,

I live in North Raleigh near where Capital Blvd and the Neuse River meet. I am trying to monitor Durham with a SDS200. With a regular 800mhz antenna on the back of scanner I get nothing. When I had a Unication G5 I could get a couple hits but 90% was unintelligible. The Durham sites are between 20-25 miles away. I mostly monitor Wake County and Viper and sometimes JohnstonP25 system.

I plan on putting a antenna in my attic but I'm not sure what to go with. Would you go with a Yagi or something like a Laird FG8066?

That's what I was thinking but I wanted to make sure I made the right decision. Do you have suggestions on which Omni antenna I should get?
