I need some assistance with monitoring LA police on broadcastify call platforms , so I have created a playlist for LA police with all the available districts , the problem I'm having is when I'm listening and a code 3 tone comes across the Air on one channel it seems to rebroadcast on several other channels , so is this because certain districts are linked together ? It's a little confusing

Okay. Thank you. That makes sense now

I haven't looked at LAPD listings for quite some time. High priority calls in the LAPD are labeled at "Hotshot Calls." There used to be a channel dedicated to hotshot calls only. The affected division would carry the traffic on that divisions dispatch channel and response was on that frequency. Citywide units would monitor the hotshot channel, helicopters included.

It's called "Area Group". Depending on the priority (code) of the call, it determines what frequency group the call taker/dispatcher will broadcast that call on. Those broadcasts depend on the geographic location of the division that the call is in and therefore neighboring divisions will also hear that broadcast in case officers happen to be in the area.
