Does anyone know if it would be possible to monitor Baltimore County from the extreme northern portion of Lancaster county, pa? How about Baltimore City? Any other County Emergency systems that might be strong enough to reach PA?

It is highly unlikely that you would be able to receive Baltimore County or Baltimore City from Northern Lancaster County, Pa. Both of these jurisdictions are on 800MHz, due the distance and propagation of 800 MHz signal I don’t think you would have enough for the trunk tracking scanner to decode the data channel.

I am unsure about other jurisdictions in the State of Maryland, but for most of them it would be the same problem. Maybe another member of this board has visited your area and knows if this is possible.

Sometimes I am able to hear Harford County, MD Fire/EMS on 460.600. I believe that is the correct jurisdiction. I am in Mechanicsburg, PA. It just depends on where I am whether or not I pick it up though.

Try 46.46MHz.

You could give 46.46 a try, I monitor Balt Co. from Delaware County all the time. It looks like you are a little farther away but it's worth a try.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions :) I'll try listening online when I can, and I'll program Harford/Baltimore counties in on my scanner so that when Im on the road I can give them a try and see if I hear anything

I would be remiss in forgetting to add that Nightwatch's Teamspeak server now also carries Baltimore county. I need to update his site page . He starting carrying it around June 18th.
