I have for many years always been able to monitor the tower broadcasts on 119.400. For the last several months I can only hear the inbound flight. The ATC in the tower is no longer readable. Is anyone else having this issue.

I have been using the waterfall display on the sds200 and I faintly see the ATC. Maybe it's time to move the antenna. I have no issues receiving ground control @ 121.9000.

The ground frequency has antennas oriented to T/R to aircraft on the ground. The tower frequecies favor aircraft that are airborne in the vicinity of the airport. Perhaps the FAA re-engineered the antenna patterns, or a structure has been erected that blocks the signal in your vector.

The problem has been somewhat resolved. The audio is low but it always has been. I removed the little Jim Pre-Amp and the tower is now readable. I forgot I had put this thing inline. It has a switch that allows signal rejection above or below the indicated frequency range.
